There are lots of health benefits to surfing.  It is counted as a good form of cardiovascular exercise, meaning that you get your heart and lungs really working!  The mixture of paddling, standing on the board and working on your core muscles makes it a really effective workout.

Your mental health is likely to be boosted when you take up surfing.  Spending time outdoors is great for your mind as well as your body, allowing you to release stress and anxiety.  The concentration required for surfing is a good mindfulness action and a good way to meditate!
